Allahabad:  Situated at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati, Allahabad is among the holiest cities associated with Hinduism. Situated in eastern Uttar Pradesh, the city was earlier known as Prayag. It is one of the four sites where the Kumbh Mela is held every 12 years.

Sarnath: Sarnath is a small village in Uttar Pradesh, situated about 13 km north-east of holy city Varanasi. Formerly known as Isipatana, it is famous as the site where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma, or where Buddha preached his first sermon.
